Can I get in touch before placement?
Yes. We can explore expectations, questions and preparation before a child joins the family.
Is support also available after placement?
Yes. We can work around adjustment, connection, roles, everyday routines and concerns that arise after placement.
Is this part of the official foster care or adoption process?
No. This is private, supportive counselling and is separate from the official process and the work of the competent authorities.
Does it include a suitability assessment or official report?
No. I do not provide suitability assessments, official opinions, reports or certificates for an authority through this service.
Can both parents attend?
Yes. One parent or both parents may attend the same online meeting.
Clear boundaries
The private counselling I offer is supportive and is not part of the official foster care or adoption process. It does not include a suitability assessment or opinion, an official report or certificate for an authority, representation or mediation with an authority, and it does not replace legal advice or support from the relevant services.
I do not undertake private work where I have previously been involved with the child, family or case in an institutional capacity, or where another conflict of roles arises. In such cases, another professional or relevant service will be suggested where possible.
